Started back in 2011 when three of us were sketching ideas on napkins at a King West cafe. We'd all worked at big firms, done the corporate thing, but felt something was missing - that personal touch, y'know? The kind of architecture that actually listens to what a space wants to become.
Toronto's grown like crazy since then, and honestly, we've grown right alongside it. We've seen neighborhoods transform, watched old warehouses become vibrant mixed-use spaces, helped families design homes that actually fit how they live - not just how magazines say they should.
What keeps us going? It's those moments when a client walks into their finished space and just... gets it. When a building we designed becomes part of the community fabric. That's the real stuff.
We're not huge on manifestos or rigid rules. Architecture's about people and places, and both are way too complex for one-size-fits-all solutions.
Before we draw a single line, we spend time understanding what you actually need. Not what we think looks cool or what won an award last year - what works for your life or your business.
Every site tells a story. The neighboring buildings, the way light hits in different seasons, how people move through the area - we design with all of that in mind, not against it.
Not because it's trendy, but because it's just smarter. Better materials last longer, passive design saves you money, and honestly - we've only got one planet.
We work with engineers, contractors, and clients as actual partners. The best solutions come from pooling everyone's expertise, not from architects dictating from on high.
The folks who turn ideas into buildings
Principal Architect, OAA
Been designing buildings for 18 years now, and still get excited about solving tricky site constraints. Spent five years doing high-rises before realizing I wanted to focus on mixed-use and residential projects where you really get to know the people using the spaces. Outside work? Usually hiking the Bruce Trail or obsessing over my sourdough starter.
Principal Architect, Urban Planning Lead
My background's in urban design, which basically means I'm the guy always thinking about how buildings fit into neighborhoods. Did my thesis on adaptive reuse - taking old industrial buildings and giving 'em new life. That's still my favorite kind of project. When I'm not drawing plans, I'm probably coaching youth basketball in Scarborough.
Senior Architect, Sustainability Specialist
If it involves green roofs, passive solar, or reclaimed materials, I'm your person. Got into sustainable design after working on a LEED Platinum project in Vancouver - saw firsthand how much impact thoughtful choices make. Now I help make sure every project we do is as environmentally conscious as possible without breaking the bank.
Associate Architect, Heritage Buildings
There's something special about working with buildings that've been standing for a century or more. I specialize in restoration and adaptive reuse - figuring out how to honor the original design while making spaces work for modern life. Previously worked with Parks Canada, now bringing that experience to Toronto's historic structures.
Senior Designer, Interior Spaces
I handle the inside stuff - making sure spaces not only function well but actually feel good to be in. Light, materials, flow between rooms... it all matters. Started in residential design, moved into commercial interiors, and now I do both. Big believer that good interior architecture shouldn't scream for attention.
Architect, Commercial Projects
I work mainly on commercial and mixed-use buildings - retail spaces, offices, that kind of thing. What I love about it is the challenge of creating environments where businesses can thrive while still being interesting architecture. Also handle most of our 3D modeling and visualization work.
Look, we're not gonna pretend architecture saves the world or anything. But done right? It makes daily life better in small but meaningful ways. A house that actually suits how a family lives. An office where people don't dread going to work. Public spaces that bring communities together instead of just filling empty lots.
Toronto's changing fast - sometimes too fast. We try to make sure that as it grows, we're building stuff that'll age well, that respects what came before while embracing what's next. Buildings that use resources wisely and sit comfortably in their neighborhoods.
Every project's different. Some clients come with clear visions, others just know something needs to change but aren't sure what. Either way, we're here to help figure it out and make it real.
Let's Talk About Your Project"They actually listened to what we wanted instead of pushing their own agenda. The house they designed for us feels like ours, not like we're living in someone else's vision."

"Working with Nebular Quinthale on our office renovation was straightforward and collaborative. They understood our budget constraints and delivered something better than we imagined."
